Meet the founder

Sawa started with the people who left.

I became a therapist in Beirut, and then August 4th happened. The city broke, and so did we — and in the months after, the people I loved started leaving. Paris, Dubai, Montréal.

They called me anyway. Cousins who still flinched at loud doors, friends crying in kitchens I'd never seen, my own family carrying Beirut around a city that had no idea. They needed care in the language they broke down in, from someone who was there — and there was nowhere to send them.

So I built it. Sawa means together — because leaving home should never mean leaving support behind.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the psychologists?

Licensed Lebanese psychologists — every one holds a license to practice in Lebanon, a graduate degree in clinical or counseling psychology, and works under ongoing supervision. We verify credentials before anyone joins, and re-verify yearly.

Who will be helping me?

One psychologist, matched to what you told us — your concerns, your language, your evenings. You’ll meet them in a free 15-minute intro call before anything starts, and you can switch anytime at no cost.

Is Sawa right for me?

Sawa is for Lebanese adults abroad dealing with everyday weights — anxiety, low mood, homesickness, burnout, relationships strained by distance. It is not a crisis service and doesn’t replace psychiatric care; in immediate danger, call your local emergency number or the Embrace Lifeline (1564) in Lebanon.

How much does it cost?

One plan: a 50-minute session every week at a time you choose, at your psychologist's rate (€50–100 a session), billed every two weeks. Messaging between sessions is included. Pause or cancel any time; a missed week rolls over to the next. Prices in euros, tax included, and the intro call is always free.

I signed up. How long until I’m matched?

Your three suggested matches appear the moment you finish the quiz. Most people book their free intro call for the same week — evenings and weekends included, in your own time zone.

How will I communicate with my psychologist?

Weekly 50-minute sessions over video or audio — your choice — in Arabic, English, French, or a mix. You can also message your psychologist between sessions.

Is what I share private?

Yes. Sessions are encrypted, your notes stay between you and your psychologist, and nothing is shared — not with insurers, not with employers, and certainly not with your relatives. The one exception is what the law everywhere requires: a serious, immediate risk to your life or someone else’s.

How long can I use Sawa?

As long as it helps — a few sessions through a rough patch or an ongoing weekly rhythm. There’s no minimum and no lock-in, and if you move countries again, your psychologist moves time zones with you.
